About EcoVadis
Founded in Paris in 2007, EcoVadis is a leading international platform for eco-sustainability ratings. With a global network that spans over 100,000 evaluated companies worldwide, EcoVadis is the trusted choice for assessing corporate social responsibility. Notable organisations like Johnson & Johnson, Nestlé, UPM, L’Oréal, RFI, and Coca-Cola turn to EcoVadis to evaluate their supplier base.
The EcoVadis process
EcoVadis offers companies the opportunity to undergo a comprehensive sustainability assessment. This process begins with a questionnaire that considers the company’s industry sector and size. Based on this information, EcoVadis generates a customized evaluation model, which is approved by an international scientific committee and aligns with globally recognized standards like the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact, and ISO 26000.
Areas of assessment
The evaluation model analyzes 21 sustainability-related criteria, categorising them into four main areas: Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. EcoVadis gathers data from various sources, including company documents, third-party sources such as brands and certifications, checklists, databases, and external data sources like news and articles. Advanced artificial intelligence is employed to assess a company’s reputation, and the results are processed to generate EcoVadis Scorecards.
The Scorecard
The EcoVadis Scorecard offers a detailed breakdown of scores in the four sustainability areas and provides a comprehensive report on CO2 emissions management. This invaluable tool helps identify our company’s strengths and areas where improvements can be made.
